The Algoma Thunderbirds men's soccer team earned an OUA point on Sunday after tying the Brock Badgers at Superior Heights 1-1.
On Sunday, the Algoma squad came out strong, with
Jubi Joseph Iferi scoring at 31 minutes. The Badgers limited Algoma's scoring opportunities, preventing the Thunderbirds from pushing further ahead. At 90 minutes, Algoma was in favour to win, but Brock's Omar Hamadi managed to score a late goal at 92 minutes, tying the game.
On Saturday, in Algoma University's Homecoming game, the Badgers jumped ahead with a 2-1 over Algoma after a late goal in the first half to put the game past the Thunderbirds. Naif Alharjri scored the lone goal for Algoma.
In the women's action, Algoma Thunderbirds conceded three goals in each game, losing 3-0 to the Badgers on both Saturday and Sunday.
