The Algoma Thunderbirds men's basketball team earned their first win of 2017 over the Waterloo Warriors this evening. Turnovers plagued Waterloo in the third quarter, allowing Algoma to run up the score, defeating the Warriors 77-68.
Adam Benrabah led the Thunderbirds in the win with 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Damian Okungbowa chipped in with 14 points and 2 rebounds.
Algoma's field goal percentage was 31.7% and they shot 38.9% from outside.
Nedim Hodzic had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Warriors.
Algoma continues their 2016-17 season at home against the Windsor Lancers on Friday at 8:00pm in their Bell Let's Talk Day game.
