(OSHAWA, Ont.): On Friday, your Thunderbirds traveled to Oshawa to face the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
The women's team took the lead in the first quarter of the game, but it was in the third quarter where the team was able to really rack up some points. The team celebrated the first win of the season, with a final score of 64-56. Top scorer of the game was
Rhianna-Mae Laing with 17 points.
This will also be the first win for new head coach Katie Hamilton, who is currently coaching her first season with us. This is also the team's first win since 2022 against Lakehead.
The men's team improved throughout their game, but it wasn't enough to make up for the first quarter. Ontario Tech took the win with a final score of 94-83.
Taleh Wade was the top scorer of the game with 15 points.
(KINGSTON, Ont.): The teams then made their way to Queen's University for Saturday's game.
The women's team had a tough second half of the game, with Queens taking the win with a final score of 69-36. Top scorer of the game was
Rhianna-Mae Laing once again with 11 points.
The men's team had a good third quarter, but Queens ultimately took the win with a score of 100-67.
Patrick-Oliver Mpoyi was the top scorer of the game with 16 points.
