1303Memberships:
The George Leach Centre (GLC) offers a wide range of membership options for those looking to improve their personal fitness level or to participate in the many recreational opportunities offered in our athletics complex. Memberships are available in one, four-, and 12-month increments, with special pricing for students and seniors.

To purchase a GLC membership online register your email for a My GLC account by clicking here. Existing members looking to renew may also use their My GLC accounts to renew their memberships. To have your My GLC account activated please contact the GLC Front Desk at glcdesk@algomau.ca or call (705)-949-2301, ext 4500. Upon purchasing a membership online new and existing members must visit the GLC front desk to have a membership card created or reactivated.

All new members must also complete a physical activity readiness questionnaire. The questionnaire can be found by clicking here and must be e-mailed to glcdesk@algomau.ca prior to first visit. 

Monthly payments are available via our automatic credit card payments at the GLC front desk.

Algoma University Students:
Once tuition fees are paid, Algoma University students are granted access to the GLC. To get started, visit the GLC Reception Desk to have your student card validated. At this time, you will be asked to fill out a waiver and membership application form. To gain entry into the facility, simply scan your student card at the Reception Desk to unlock the lobby door.

When tuition fees are paid, the University will set an expiry date on your student card. Access to the GLC will be valid up until that date. During the summer months (May through August), GLC access will only be permitted to students who are fully registered in summer classes. The GLC does offer discounted summer memberships for students who are not enrolled during the summer months.

Summer Special Prices: 

AU Students that are not taking any summer classes: $80+tax - May 1st to August 31st. (prorated 25% off each month) 
Non AU Student Special: $159.29+tax - May 1st to August 31st. (prorated 25% off each month) 

Students must come in person the GLC desk for registration to show student status etc. 

All Prices Below Include HST. All 1 year membership available for monthly payments via credit card through our auto billing system. 

Price Increases in effect January 1st, 2025 

Algoma University Alumni:
Algoma University alumni receive special discounted rates for all membership options. Algoma University alumni receive a 20 per cent discount towards the community rate on single person memberships and a 10 per cent discount towards the community rate on family memberships. . Alumni must be able to show proof of graduation in order to a obtain discount. If purchasing online proof must be presented when picking up a membership card. Family Memberships are set for the entire 1 year contract. Family members cannot be removed or added during the one year contract unless their is a valid reason which needs to be approved by the GLC Coordinator of Operations Daniel Roy - daniel.roy@algomau.ca

Community and Family:
Memberships are available to those who are 16 years of age and older. Those who are between the ages of 13 and 16 are also eligible for a membership, but must first complete a mandatory orientation. Great rates are also available on annual family membership options. Family memberships are limited to a four-person household, and includes spouses, siblings, and children under 25 years of age.  Family members cannot be removed or added during the one year contract unless their is a valid reason which needs to be approved by the GLC Coordinator of Operations Daniel Roy - daniel.roy@algomau.ca

Students and Seniors:
Students and people who are 60 years of age and older, qualify for a 15 per cent discount towards the community membership base rate. If purchasing online proof must be presented when picking up a membership card.

Tennis and Pickleball Packages

Walking Pass (track access only, no courts)

  • 1 Month: $23.73

Weight Room and Group Fitness Packages:

  • 5 Pack: $52,50 (3 Month Expiration)
  • 10 Pack: $83.06 (3 Month Expiration)

GLC Membership Freeze/Hold Policy

  • Only year-long contracts are eligible for freezes or holds.

  • Members are permitted one freeze or hold per contract year.
