Membership Overview
The George Leach Centre (GLC) offers a variety of membership options for fitness and recreational use of our athletics complex. Memberships are available in 1-, 4-, and 12-month increments, with special pricing for students, seniors, alumni, and families.
How to Purchase
To purchase online:
Register your email for a My GLC account by clicking “Login” on our site.
Existing members may renew using their My GLC account.
After purchasing online, visit the GLC front desk to have your membership card issued or reactivated.
All new members must complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. Submit the completed form electronically before your first visit to the GLC front desk.
Membership Details
Algoma University Students
Algoma University students gain access to the GLC once tuition fees are paid. Visit the GLC Reception Desk for card validation and complete a waiver and membership form. Scan your validated student card at the Reception Desk to enter the facility.
Student access continues until the expiry date set by the University.
During summer (May–August), access is only permitted for students registered in summer classes. Discounted summer memberships are available for non-registered students.
Summer Special Prices:
AU Students that are not taking any summer classes: $80+tax - May 1st to August 31st.
Non AU Student Special: $159.29+tax - May 1st to August 31st.
Students must come in person the GLC desk for registration to show student status etc.
Community and Family
Membership is available to individuals aged 16+, and members aged 13–16 may join after completing a mandatory orientation. Family memberships include spouses, siblings, and children under 25.
Family Plans: Limited to a four-person household (spouses, siblings, and children under 25).
Policy: Family members cannot be added or removed during a one-year contract without the GLC Coordinator of Operations.

Algoma University Alumni
Algoma University alumni receive special discounted rates for all membership options.
- Discount Details: Algoma University alumni receive a 20 per cent discount towards the community rate on single-person memberships and a 10 per cent discount towards the community rate on family memberships.
- Availability: These memberships are available for purchase in-person only at the facility.
- Proof Required: Alumni must be able to show proof of graduation/degree in order to obtain the discount.
Students and Seniors (60+)
Students and people who are 60 years of age and older receive special pricing for all membership options.
- Discount Details: Students and Seniors qualify for a 15 per cent discount towards the community membership base rate. Senior couples can purchase a family membership for 2 (Senior Couples) with a 10% discount. If purchasing online proof must be presented when picking up a membership card.

Our walking in wellness pass includes track access, change rooms, and sauna.

GLC Membership Freeze/Hold Policy
Only year-long contracts are eligible for freezes or holds.
Members are permitted one freeze or hold per contract year.
All requests must be submitted in writing to the GLC Coordinator for review.
