About Us:
Algoma University's Varsity Council consists of one member from each varsity sport team with an emphasis on gender equity, promoting a competitive OUA program for all sports programs, and supporting varsity athletes in athletic, social, and academic development.

Positions:
- President: promotes the efficient operation of the Varsity Council and the Executive. Is the leader of the Varsity Council who will chair and set agendas for all meetings. The President is the official lead on all Varsity Council matters. Will act as primary liaison to Athletics and Recreation Director and Varsity Sports Coordinator.
- Vice-President: is second to President and will assist on all presidential matters. When President is absent, the Vice-President will fulfill duties of the President.
- VP Communications: responsible for taking Varsity Council meeting minutes and circulating to members. Will also send out reminders on when meetings will be held and agendas. Assists President when requested to do so. Coordinates meetings between Varsity Council and other departments, individuals, and groups.
- VP Community Outreach: raises awareness of Varsity Council matters to the Algoma University community as well as the community of Sault Ste. Marie. Develops a working relationship with other groups, departments, and organizations.
- VP Varsity Affairs: responsible for addressing any positive or adverse issues to the Varsity Council which could affect the varsity sports program. These may be related to. but not limited to, academics, competition, and internal operations.
- VP Student-Initiatives: responsible for determining new initiatives which will benefit the varsity sports program. These initiatives can be related to team building, fundraising or among others.
