Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Algoma Men Travel to Wilfrid Laurier and McMaster in Away Games

(WATERLOO, Ont): The Algoma Thunderbirds men's basketball team travelled to Waterloo to face the Laurier Golden Hawks this past weekend. 

Alex Semenov had a great game, scoring a team-high 12 points followed by Kal-El Alejo with 11 points. Ibrahima Yansane brought down 5 rebounds.

Laurier 105

In their second game of the weekend against Laurier, Kur Mayuom was the top scorer for Algoma with 9 points while Jean-Michael Senatus and Khamani Stecker had 4 rebounds each.

(HAMILTON, Ont): Algoma was originally scheduled to travel to McMaster just before the holiday break but due to severe weather conditions, the game was postponed to this past Monday, January 12th. Top scorer of the game for the Thunderbirds was Khamani Steckler who scored 10 points and brought down 7 rebounds, followed by Kur Mayuom with 9 points.

Looking Ahead: 
This upcoming weekend we are excited to host our annual Shoot for the Cure event once again! The teams will tip-off against the Windsor Lancers beginning Friday at 6pm and 8pm and on Saturday at 3pm and 5pm. Come on out and support our breast cancer awareness initiative and see our volunteers get their haircut or pies to the face! All proceeds from the game will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
