(WATERLOO, Ont): The Algoma Thunderbirds women's basketball team travelled to Waterloo this past weekend to face the Laurier Golden Hawks. 

In their first game, Brooke Gruhn led all Thunderbirds players with 18 points, followed by Kaila Fong with 16 points. Nadia Singh brought down a team leading 9 rebounds.

In their second game, Gruhn and Sadie Grawbarger both led Algoma with 15 points each while Riya Donnelly had 6 rebounds.

(HAMILTON, Ont): Algoma was originally scheduled to travel to McMaster just before the holiday break but due to severe weather conditions, the game was postponed to this past Monday, January 12th. Kaila Fong led the team with an incredible 20 points, followed by Nadia Singh with 18 points and 9 rebounds.

Looking Ahead: 
This upcoming weekend we are excited to host our annual Shoot for the Cure event once again! The teams will tip-off against the Windsor Lancers beginning Friday at 6pm and 8pm and on Saturday at 3pm and 5pm. Come on out and support our breast cancer awareness initiative and see our volunteers get their haircut or pies to the face! All proceeds from the game will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.
