Thunderbirds Take on Muskoka Loppet

The Algoma Thunderbirds Nordic Ski team hit the trails at the Muskoka Loppet this past weekend, competing against strong regional talent in the 17 km classic ski event. Facing challenging conditions, the Thunderbirds delivered solid performances, showcasing their endurance and determination on the course.

In the overall standings, Ruby Cheeseman posted a time of 2:06:50.0 in the 30km race, placing 5th in her division, and 8th in the women's overall.

Leading the way for Algoma was Tea Lane, who clocked a time of 1:48:38.9, securing 4th place in her division in the female 17 km category. Not far behind was Emma Malone, finishing in 4th in her division with an identical time of 1:48:38.9, ranking 4th in the Youth (19 & under) category. Anna Reich rounded out the Thunderbird results, crossing the line in 2:01:46.8to claim 7th in her division overall in the female standings.

Trysten Kahtava also had a great performance this weekend and secured an 8th place overall finish in the men's 17km race, and a 4th place finish in his division.
