Algoma Thunderbirds Men's Basketball Welcomes Elijah Quissua

The Algoma University Thunderbirds are thrilled to announce the commitment of Elijah Quissua to the men's basketball team for the upcoming season.

A dynamic point guard from St. Catharines, Ontario, Elijah started playing basketball at the age of 14 and quickly rose through the ranks. He's competed with top-level programs including Niagara Ignite and Kingston Impact, building an impressive resume along the way.

Elijah brings a winning mindset to the court—he's a Gold and Bronze OFSAA medalist, a four-time SOSSA finalist, and a Hamilton and Niagara All-Star. At Saint Francis Catholic Secondary School, he was also named Basketball MVP.

"We are very excited to add Elijah to the team. We believe with his work ethic and character he is a perfect fit to where we are headed as a program. He is driven by his defensive abilities which will allow him to excel at this level," says Head Coach Ryan Vetrie.

Known for his high energy and leadership, Elijah is ready to make an impact at the university level both on and off the court. Outside of basketball, he enjoys ping pong and pool, and will be entering Algoma's Law program this fall.

"I chose to be at Algoma because I want to be a part of something special," said Quissua.

Welcome to the Thunderbirds, Elijah
