Thunderbird Women's Curlig Team Competes at the Brock Invitational Bonspiel

The Thunderbird Women's Curling team consisting of lead Lisa Brison, vice skip Olivia Forsyth, second Maggie Grexton and lead Delaney Scumacher competed at the Brock Invitational Bonspiel held over the January 17th and 18th weekend at the Welland Curling Club. The team returned home with 2 wins and 2 losses.  Here are the match results:

Day 1 - Saturday, January 17th
Game 1 - Win over Ontario Tech Ridgebacks: 7 - 1
Game 2 - Win over Windsor Lancers: 5 - 4

Day 2 - Sunday, January 18th
Game 3 - Loss to Guelph Gryphons: 7 - 3
Game 4 - Loss to Trent:  7 - 6

Head Coach of Thunderbird Women's Curling team Steve Acorn said: " A word to describe this weekend would be resilience. I challenged them to show me their resilience and determination. A hard-fought 2–2 record against strong university programs is a testament to their mental toughness. I am proud of the continued growth this team shows with every game."

The team will now prepare for the upcoming OUA Women's Curling Championship which is being held again at the Welland Curling Club and hosted by the Brock Badgers.  The event is being held over the February 6th to the 8th weekend.
