Following a significant expansion in 2016, the GLC is now a state-of-the-art facility offering enhanced space, new equipment, and diverse recreational options for the community.

Exclusive Indoor Tennis Court and NBA-Level Basketball in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

The jewel of our Fieldhouse is our multi-court area, which houses the only indoor tennis court in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This exclusive amenity allows tennis enthusiasts to practice, play, and compete year-round, regardless of the Northern Ontario weather.

Alongside the tennis court, our Fieldhouse includes two additional courts dedicated to a variety of activities such as basketball, pickleball, and volleyball. Our main basketball court even features the official flooring used during the 65th NBA All-Star Game held in Toronto.

The three courts are surrounded by a 177m indoor walking and jogging track, providing a safe, accessible space for low-impact cardio. Please visit the Multi-Purpose Court Schedule section for current open training times.

Weight Room

The weight room is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for strength and conditioning.

Group Fitness Studios

We feature three distinct studios (a large group studio, a spin studio, and a private room) offering a diverse range of classes, including Yoga, Spin, Zumba, Pilates, and more. Group Fitness Classes are offered six days a week.

Functional & Cross-Fit Training

Court 1 features specialized functional training equipment, including tractor tires, Olympic lifting pads, and TRX bands.

Facility Access and Support

The GLC provides public change rooms, complete with saunas, as well as Gender-Neutral change rooms. Our Algoma Thunderbird athletes also benefit from an exclusive Varsity Lounge for pre-game preparation and recovery.
