Level Up Basketball + Sault Men's and Women's Basketball League
The George Leach Centre is proud to host numerous sporting and event related activities that allow our local community to thrive, be active, and keep in positive spirits. We are proud to have built official partnerships with Level Up Basketball and both the Sault Men's and Women's Basketball Leagues. These partners complement one another in their mission to keep our community active on the basketball court with participants graduating from Level Up through to the Sault Men's and Women's Basketball Leagues.
Tuesday's (5:30-7:00PM) • Apr 14–June 2 • Cost: $185
- Triple-threat fundamentals and athletic movement development
- Skill-based competitive challenges
- Small sided game play

Wednesday's (7:00-8:30PM) • Apr 15–June 3 • Cost: $150
- 90-minute sessions: 30 minutes of structured skill development + one full game
- Week 1: Draft Day — athletes evaluated and drafted onto balanced teams
- Weekly standings and team competition
- Championship Week Finale, including:
- Semi-final and championship game

SAULT MEN'S and WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUES
Sault Men’s and Women's Basketball Leagues are community-driven leagues based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario playing out of the George Leach Centre on the Algoma University campus bringing together players of all skill levels for competitive and recreational basketball. The leagues are co-founded by Eleanor Johnson and Jayden Connell, who share a passion for growing the local basketball community and creating more opportunities for people to get on the court. The goal is to create a fun and organized environment where athletes can stay active, compete, and be a part of a team. Whether you’re a former high school, college or university player, a seasoned rec-league veteran, or someone just looking to get back on the court, the league offers a great balance of competition and community. Games are played in a structured league format with teams competing weekly throughout the season, complete with standings, individual statistics, and playoffs. With both competitive and social divisions, the league provides an opportunity for players of all ages and experience levels to enjoy the game. Each game is live-streamed to our YouTube channel, and saved for later viewing to allow both players and fans to tune in no matter when and where they are!
