The George Leach Centre is proud to host numerous sporting and event related activities that allow our local community to thrive, be active, and stay in positive spirits. We are proud to have built partnerships with Level Up Basketball and The Sault Men's Basketball League. Both partners complement each other's missions to keep our community active on the court as participants of Level Up's program can graduate into the Sault Men's Basketball League.
SAULT MEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUE
Sault Men’s Basketball League is a community-driven league based in Sault Ste. Marie that brings together players of all skill levels for competitive and recreational basketball. The league was co-founded by fiancés Eleanor and Jayden, who share a passion for growing the local basketball community and creating more opportunities for people to get on the court. Our goal is to create a fun and organized environment where athletes can stay active, compete, and be a part of a team. Whether you’re a former high-school, college or university player, a seasoned rec-league veteran, or someone just looking to get back on the court, the league offers a great balance of competition and community. Games are played in a structured league format with teams competing weekly throughout the season, complete with standings, individual statistics, and playoffs. With both competitive and social divisions, the league provides an opportunity for players of different experience levels to enjoy the game. Each game is live-streamed to our YouTube channel, and saved for later viewing to allow both players and fans to tune in no matter what!

Tuesdays (5:30-7 pm) • Apr 14 – June 2 • Cost: $185
- Triple-threat fundamentals and athletic movement development
- Skill-based competitive challenges
- Small sided game play

Wednesdays (7-8:30 pm) • Apr 15 – June 3 • Cost: $150 • Max 40 athletes
- 90-minute sessions: 30 minutes of structured skill development + one full game
- Week 1: Draft Day — athletes evaluated and drafted onto balanced teams
- Weekly standings and team competition
- Championship Week Finale, including:
- Semi-final and championship game

- Same structure as the Grades 6–8 league
