Thunderbirds Face Tough Losses Against Western

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 This past weekend, our Thunderbirds partook in their first set of away games of the official OUA season. On Friday, they made their way down to London, Ontario to play the Western Mustangs in back to back games. 

On Saturday, September 17th, the women's team kicked things off with a starting lineup consistign of such as Faith Holmes ©, Makayla Townes (GK), and Olivia Bernard. The teams faced a loss of 7-0. 

The men's lineup consisted of players such as Alexander Burt (GK), Tim Van Weerden ©, and Darius Bailey. Some returning players were also able to play the field for the first time this season. Despite a hard fight, the team lost 10-0. Alex had 8 saves throughout the game. 

On Sunday, September 18th, the women's team. Leigha Nippard scored a goal for Algoma with a PK in the second half. Final score for the game was 6-1 for Western. GK for the game was Aysia Solomon, who made 6 saves. 

Afterwards, the men's team walked onto the field prepared to have a better game than the day before. With Joshua Bondoc as the GK< the="" final="" score="" of="" the="" game="" was="" 4-0="" for="" western.="" joshua="" had="" 4="" saves="" throughout="" the="">

Our next game day action is a special one! Our homecoming game on Sepetmber 23rd vs. Laurier is sure to be a good one, with special performance by 705 Athletics! Catch the action at 12pm and 2:15pm at Superior Heights Turf Field (750 North St. SSM, ON) or on OUA TV!
