(ST. CATHARINES, Ont): In a busy weekend of travel, the Thunderbirds began their 2024 games at Brock. A rough start to the game, the women's team fell to the Badgers with a score of 77-37. Top scorer of the game was Kaila Fong with 11 points. Grace Silverthorn had 10 rebounds. 

With Brock taking a big lead in the first quarter, the men's team, although keeping the scoring close, was unable to make up the difference. Brock took the win with a score of 77-60. Tife Obasoto scored the team an incredible 25 points. Jaylen White had 8 rebounds. 

(SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont): With fresh lighting in the GLC, the Thunderbirds were eager to host the Lakehead Thunderwolves. It was in the third quarter that the women were able to take a lead over Lakehead, with the fourth quarter keeping us on the edge of our seats. Algoma won their second game of the season with a score of 49-45. Kaila Fong was the top scorer of the game with 13 points, and Grace Silverthorn had 16 rebounds. 

Although the men's team kept a close game with Lakehead, the Thunderwolves took the win with a score of 84-72. 12 points were each earned by Patrick-Oliver Mpoyi, Tife Obasoto, Johan Germain, and Taleh Wade. Adong Dut had 5 rebounds. 

The next game day action will be our Shoot for the Cure game on January 19th at 6pm & 8pm against the uOttawa GeeGees!
