Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women Open 2025 with Games vs. Western

(SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont): The Algoma Thunderbirds women's basketball team returned to the court this past weekend for 2025. With two games versus the Western Mustangs, the team showcased resilience and skill in their first game. With the first half of the game being neck in neck with Western, it was certainly a great way to kick off the new year!

Brooke Gruhn had a great game, scoring 16 points for the team, followed by Sadie Grawbarger with 13 points and Nadia Singh with 10 points. Singh also led the team with 10 rebounds.

In their second game of the weekend, Gruhn led the team once again with 18 points, followed by Singh with 16 points and Kaila Fong with 12 points. Grawbarger made a total of 11 rebounds.
