(LONDON, Ont): The Algoma Thunderbirds women's soccer team traveled to London on Sunday for a tough test against the Western Mustangs, dropping a 4-0 decision at Alumni Stadium.
Goalkeeper Paisley Pennington was once again a standout for Algoma, making six saves while facing 21 shots from a high-powered Western offense. The Thunderbirds' backline, anchored by Maddi Rouleau and Erin Santin, worked tirelessly to contain Western's attack while still pushing forward to create opportunities of their own.
On the offensive side, Algoma registered four shots on goal — including efforts from Rouleau, Santin, Kianna Reppington, and Samantha Mazzuca — showing resilience in transition and a commitment to challenging Western's keeper.
Western struck once in the first half before adding three more after the break, but Algoma continued to push forward, with Rouleau forcing a save in the final moments of play. The Thunderbirds left Alumni Stadium with valuable experience and signs of improvement heading into the next stretch of their OUA schedule
