(HAMILTON, Ont.): The Algoma Thunderbirds women's soccer team showed grit and determination on the road at Ron Joyce Stadium, battling the McMaster Marauders in a match that ended 3-0 in favor of the hosts.
Goalkeeper Paisley Pennington continued to stand tall for Algoma, making three saves while managing a relentless McMaster attack. Defenders Madalyn Clement and Samantha Mazzuca anchored the backline, with Samantha adding a key defensive save in the second half to deny a sure goal.
On the attacking side, Erin Santin led the Thunderbirds with two shots on target, both testing McMaster's goalkeeper in the opening half. Despite Algoma's push, McMaster capitalized on their chances, scoring once in the first half and adding two more late to seal the result.
While the scoreline didn't favor Algoma, the Thunderbirds showed defensive discipline and flashes of attacking promise, proving once again their ability to compete against strong OUA opposition
Final Score: Algoma 0-3 McMaster
